A Little Bit About Me
I'm revising my profile for the first time after my first few weeks on this site, and my naivety has shrunken.
First off, yes I'm divorced after a very short marriage, with no children. It is unfortunate, however, it was necessary. It does not define me, and if anything, it has made me stronger and wiser.
I'm intelligent, educated, and hard-working. I understand the role a women plays in her home, and her community...while at the same time, fostering an equal and respectful relationship with her partner.
I'm adventurous, and active -- I like trying new things and am not afraid of getting my feet wet. I like trying new things, and my weekends are spent hunting down a new adventure ...whether it be kayaking, camping, rock climbing, zumba, whatever.
I've been called "friendly, outgoing, smart and knows how to have fun".
I'm a foodie...I love traveling, and the first thing i'm excited about when visiting any country, is trying the ethnic food. I love the cooking channel, and can watch it for hours. And yes...I replicate those recipes in the kitchen, because I love cooking. I've travelled all the continents except South America and Antarctica.
I don't pray 5 times a day...but I WANT to, and will stride towards that. I have been blessed to have parents who have instilled in us the teachings and principles of Islam and who lead their lives with humility and their deen. My faith may not be at 100% and I don't think many people can actually claim they are at 100% because everyone can improve on something.

What I Am Looking For
Back to my first point about me being divorced. I don't respect people are judgmental or presumptuous -- I tend to stay away from people like that. Therefore, if you hold divorce with such high stigma, not willing get past that without even respecting someone enough to hear their story...then, you're not for me.
I'm looking for:
someone who can enjoy life, have fun, laugh, joke and has a positive energy. Someone who is willing to improve themselves as a Muslim, and consequently, as a human being.
someone who is confident, stable and secure with himself, while at the same time, humble and modest.
someone I can trust, confide in, and rejoice with in the "ups", and be strong and patient with faith in the "downs".
someone I can talk to about all aspects of life...can keep the conversation going -- someone who can be serious and intellectual, but also goofy and light-hearted.
someone who is family-oriented, loving, caring and is able to laugh at me and at himself-- so yes, someone with a sense of humor :)
